Things that keep holding me back.

There are number of people who wish to change their life – have a better lifestyle, abundance of money and create something meaningful.

So, do I. I, too, wish to change my lifestyle – have abundance of money and live a fulfilled life. But it’s always there – an excuse – this is not perfect, I’ll wait, I’ll do it tomorrow, it’s my parent’s fault, there parents support them so much, I don’t feel like it and many more. The list continues.

As a human being, I overly exaggerate a situation or a moment with over-thinking: ‘Maybe this is true, maybe I am a failure.’, ‘No. how can say that? I am a winner.’, ‘But how? I act lazily.’

I cannot stop over-thinking. But I can start controlling my mind and thoughts. Because at the end of the day, what happened never matters but what I did matters. The change of course.

So, here is my list of things that I must let go to move forward. Some may resonate with your habits and some may not. As we are all different and unique in our own ways, we have our own set of insecurities and weaknesses and strengths.

  1. Blaming or complaining about how I am a failure, or incompetent, or how the time was not right, or how others should behave.
  2. Caring about what others will think, and, majorly, my parents and family members and friends.
  3. Discouraging thinking patterns.
  4. Comparing, and assuming a situation instead of just being present.
  5. Judging myself and others.
  6. Trying to change others instead of me, first.
  7. Talking instead of acting.

The list goes on and on. But these 6 things are the most important ones that I must change to live a better life as it is my responsibility. These are the list of what I must give on, let go. But what about replacing the habits? What should I replace them with?
