Simplicity – Living Moments

I have had a mindset in the past years that locked me in one place. Being accountable for it, I stopped myself from ever trying a new thing, or ever getting into a relationship or ever taking action to reach closer to my goals.

Its roots dig deeper – my emotional intelligence, my discipline and my thoughts.

But one important word that made this simple was simplicity. As I said earlier, my mindset or my habits of thinking were, “Everything needs to be perfect.”, “How can I do it when I have no good company to hang out with?”, “How can I write when I have no idea how to start and what will people think?”

It circled all around perfection.

But it does not really matter because everything that I do, whether it was good or better, whether it’s art, jumping, eating or meditating, I am doing it for me. And the key is simplicity. Just do it because I want to do it.

Many times, I made rules, I still do, that bind me inside boundaries. These rules are, “I must do it for the best.”, “This must be good.”, “How can I be happy when they are sad?”

They were all future-oriented. And it is to improve for the future, but whenever I put more importance on what the future holds if I did something, it only made me feel angry and hurtful.

I still haven’t learned how I can live a simple life. But I sure know the benefits of living a simple life. I was worried about something that I cared for. I was sad for not taking action and I was ready to act. I was happy being myself. And most importantly, I had accepted myself: my mistakes, lessons, and opportunities.

In conclusion, everyone has different lives to lead. Everyone has different goals. And the quicker I understood this, everyone has their own shit to look for and no one is responsible for my life but me, it was clear that I am accountable for creating a life that I want.
